Irrfan will play one of the seven husbands in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Saat Khoon Maaf. His character is the only one who gets cosy with Priyanka Chopra in the film.
“Irrfan plays a character of a poet in the film. Lyricist Gulzar has penned down two controversial songs for his character, who will serenade Priyanka with them. While none of the other six husbands are shown being physically intimate with Priyanka’s character, Irrfan is the only one who has such a scene with her. Irrfan has replaced Emraan Hashmi who was initially considered for this role,” said a source.
Irrfan was always keen on working with Vishal after Maqbool and had once publicly expressed that he was disappointed that Vishal never cast him in his films again. When he got this offer, Irrfan jumped at it.
