A garment factory employee was allegedly raped and murdered in Nelamangala police limits. The body of the 18-year-old girl, who had gone missing since Saturday night, was found in Heggadedevanapura.
According to the police, the assailants had set the body on fire to prevent identification. The girls’ parents had approached the Nelamangala police after she did not return from the factory in the evening, a police officer said.
“The girl was working at a garment factory in Madanayakanahalli. The parents searched for her everywhere. They got to know that she had left the factory after duty. A missing person case was registered and nearby police stations were also alerted,” the officer said.
The next day, a passersby discovered a half burnt body in Tapovana in Heggadedevanapura area. The police rushed to the spot and on suspicion informed the girls’ parents.
“Her parents identified the body. We suspect that the accused had molested her. The medical examination report is awaited,” the officer added.
