Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to star in 'Transformers 3'
British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will take over as the leading lady in upcoming blockbuster 'Transformers 3'.
The Victoria's Secret pin-up, 23, was offered the role in the sequel after Megan Fox sensationally quit the franchise last week.
Since then speculation has centred on a range of beautiful actresses to replace her including Gemma Arterton, Zoe Saldana, Vanessa Hudgens, Amber Heard, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Ashley Greene.
More details have emerged over why Fox left the franchise.
Director Michael Bay reportedly came to blows with the 24-year-old Fox over her plummeting weight.
Her slender physique sparked concern and "unhealthy" Fox was ordered to put on weight, sources claimed.
Huntington-Whiteley, who is currently dating British hard man Jason Statham and counts French actor Olivier Martinez as her ex, holds no acting credentials to date.
When Fox was cast back in 2007 for the first Transformers flick, she already made several TV appearances and starred in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen with Lindsay Lohan.
Huntington-Whiteley follows in the footsteps of Bond girls Olga Kurylenko and Halle Berry, who also made the leap from catwalk to silver screen.
Despite rumors Fox was sacked from the film, her spokesman insisted "It was her decision not to return."
